Scorpion - Season 3

Here's the season 3 finale of Scorpion explained. NCIS is currently in its seventeenth season and has expanded to a surprisingly sprawling range of hit TV shows. NCIS started life as a backdoor pilot during JAG season 8 which introduced Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Anthony DiNozzo. Their episode was popular enough to receive a greenlight for a solo series, which slowly built up a major fanbase over its first few seasons. Its success later led to spinoff NCIS: Los Angeles in 2009 which starred LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell. Like its parent series, Los Angeles was another ratings smash and has lasted eleven seasons thus far.

Scorpion - Season 3

The main character is supergenius Walter O'Brien (Elyes Gabel), and the supporting cast includes Katharine McPhee and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day). The show was pitched as something of a more dramatic take on The Big Bang Theory, exploring the dynamics of a team of geniuses working together to save lives. The Scorpion season 3 finale "Scorp Family Robinson" follows on from the previous episode, where the team crash lands on a deserted island and have to work together to find a way to escape.

While the Scorpion season 3 finale certainly plays up the mild, Lord Of The Flies dynamic implicit to the concept, its ultimately more of a comedy. The supergenius' disagree on the best way to signal for rescue, with Toby and Happy try to make a raft out of some oil drums they find while Walter's plan involves magnets. Things backfire and the bickering increases until a magnetic disturbance signals a plane to fly near the island. They manage to write an SOS in the sand and get rescued, and the episode ends with Walter and new girlfriend Paige about to spend some quality alone time together.

In keeping with the overall tone of Scorpion, the season 3 finale was breezy and fun. The highlights included the character interplay, with Sylvester slowing going insane due to being marooned on the island.

"There's a story I heard as a child, a parable, and I never forgot it. A scorpion was walking along the bank of a river, wondering how to get to the other side. Suddenly, he saw a fox. He asked the fox to take him on his back across the river. The fox said 'No. If I do that, you'll sting me and I'll drown.' The scorpion assured him, 'If I did that, we'd both drown.' So, the fox thought about it, and finally agreed. So, the scorpion climbed up on his back, and the fox began to swim, but halfway across the river, the scorpion stung him. As the poison filled his veins, the fox turned to the scorpion and said, 'Why did you do that? Now you'll drown too.' 'I couldn't help it,' said the scorpion, 'it's my nature'."

"In terms of what's coming up this year there's a lot of stuff. You're gonna get resolution on a lot of things. We start off the season, first episode back, is pretty much a direct pick-up from about a couple of hours from where we left off. So, we're gonna see what happens when Walter goes up to Tahoe. We're going to actually be taking characters in different directions as opposed to love interests," said Wootten.

Wootten did not tell much about the big reveals that will surprise viewers in the upcoming season, but he did tease that fans of the series and the lead character, Happy, will be glad to know whom Happy got married to. The "Scorpion" cast and crew also revealed that the relationships in the show will get more intimate as the gang gets closer. Also, they said that the show does not plan to "do the same thing every episode at all."

"The second episode is one of our favorite episodes that we've had all the season. It's very exciting and it's very different than what the regular episodes have been. It's very cool," said the actress.

There are six more episodes left in the third season of Scorpion so now is the time to start making your predictions. Do you think Toby and Happy will actually get to the altar? Let us know what you think in the comments.

In other news, CBS recently ordered an extra episode for "Scorpion" Season 3, totaling the current season's episode order from 24 to 25, SpoilerTV reported. What do you think of Tim leaving Team Scorpion to give way to Walter and Paige's romance? Do you ship Waige, or prefer Paige with Tim? Share your thoughts below!

Last season, the Scorpion TV show saw a significant tumble in the ratings but CBS renewed the series anyway. Now, the network is moving the show to a later timeslot (when fewer people are watching television). Could Scorpion be cancelled or, is it sure to be renewed for a third season so there will be enough episodes for syndication? Stay tuned.

This report is a retrospective study of the epidemiology of scorpion sting cases recorded from 2007 to 2013 in the State of Ceará, Northeastern Brazil. Data were collected from the Injury Notification Information System database of the Health Department of Ceará. A total of 11,134 cases were studied and distributed across all the months of the studied period and they occurred mainly in urban areas. Victims were predominantly 20-29 years-old women. Most victims were bitten on the hand; and received medical assistance within 1-3 hours after being bitten. Cases were mostly classified as mild and progressed to cure.
